DIGITAL WEEKENDER 2020
21-22 NOV 2020 | ONLINE
The annual Digital Weekender brings the best and brightest digital talent to Watermans.
This year, the event will be held online in partnership with the brilliant artists that make up Kimatica!
The weekender will take place over the weekend of 21 & 22 November, and by accessing this page, you will have access to a smogasbord of exciting events, from exhibitions to live streamed performances to workshops.
Some events need to be booked, while others can be dropped into on the day. If you’re planning to come along, it’s free (except for the workshops) but the organisers would ask that you consider donating £5 per person attending to help support Watermans’ work. There are links to donate on each of the page, or during the booking process for the live streams which they recommend that you book in order that you get the link in good time. All the information you need is in the individual event listings available here.
Insight on the Programme
Among the various activities, it is worthy to mention Borealis, a mesmerizing body mapping show inspired by the motion of the natural forces in our galaxy. It combines the latest tracking technology and dance, taking you on a journey of dreams and illusions and exploring the crossroads between interactive light, sound and movement in which the human body becomes a link between the three. It will be performed by Kimatica studio, a London-based multidisciplinary studio exploring the intersection between the human body, live performance and interactive technology. Wishing to extend the possibilities of experiential digital art, Kimatica creates live performance and performative installation experiences.
Performances will be live streamed from Watermans on Twitch and Facebook on Saturday 21 November.
